How Some Aspects of the Patterns, Problems and Promise of Agriculture and Forestry in Tropics and the Hotter Subtropic.

This time in the system of social knowledge, we will learn about the Some Aspects of the Patterns, Problems and Promise of Agriculture and Forestry in Tropics and the Hotter Subtropic. Okay for more details, let us listen to the flow of this below.
It might be objected that the features mentioned here are heterogeneous and for this reason scarlcely justify being brought together for a related discussion. Actually the very diversity of the matters mentioned by me appears to be an argument in favour of their being drawn together for general consideration. The very fact of their existence is surely the most weightty argument possible for their being studied with as much correlation as possible.

People, Health, Food and Education

The ‘population bomb’, as it has been called, is considered by some students of human relation to be more dangerous than the threat of nuclear war (see in the Bibliogrphy, the items marked). The reference is of course to the rising rate of increment in fertility and the reducing rate in mortality, due to improve and much more widely extended public health, medical and other protective social services and to some expansion in depth and spread of elementary and other education. Undoubtedly the threat of the so- called ‘explosion’ due to an increse in population will continue ti be great and imminent in parts of Asia-notably India and China- but must be heeded increasingly in parts of Latin America, the west coast of Africa, the valley of the Nile and in Rwanda and Burundi. The problem of local over-population within specific countries of course is no new feature, but will grow in difficulty the longer practical solution remain unfound or unapplied.
A recent study of the future growth of world and regional populations by the United Nasions (1958: 28) reveals the widespread and the pressing nature of the problems of local over-population in portions of the tropics and subtropics. With a world increment of about 1-5 per cent per annum and with regional increments in parts of Latin America, Africa and Asia of 2.4 to 3 per cent and more, the facts certainly throw into strong relief the shape of things to come. Shows that in underdeveloped countries the attitude towards birth control is still unenlightened. Above all, the fact is serious and challenging that while the expansion of production of food for man certainly could be much increased and the tempo of such an increase much intensified, that expansion would be on an arithmetic basic only, whereas the increment in human mouths is logarithmic.
The technical and economic obstacles to an adequate production of food in Africa are easier removed than the psycho-traditional ones; two of the greatest being lack of self-help and co-operation.
